Lynn J. Gilbert, age 61, died at home, Feb 28, 2019, surrounded by his family, in Arcadia, Utah, with complications of the flu. He is the son of LeGrand and Nancy Gilbert.
Growing up on the family farm in Arcadia, Lynn was a big help irrigating, milking cows, herding range cows, cutting hay driving the semi trucks and everything needed. He graduated from Union High school and worked for his Uncle Larry Beal, where he learned the trade of carpentry. He loved his horses and his back-packing into the high Uintah's to camp, hunt and fish. He worked summers for his Uncle Garn Gilbert on his 4000 acre farm in Othello, Washington. He and his cousin Brent Gilbert worked on the oil rigs on the north slope of Alaska.
Lynn married Denise Weight Jan. 16, 1986, (later divorced), they had one son, Jackson who died in an ATV accident July 8, 2001. Lynn married Clarice Cowan Aug. 9, 1995.
Lynn was in an accident in his pickup in the desert on the Nevada California Line, 31 years ago where he had his Semi trucks employed. He was left a paraplegic in a wheel chair which did not stop him from doing what he loved to do. He still ran farm equipment, had a garage built and did auto mechanics, restoring several older model cars. He was always willing to help others. He was a mentor and taught many people to over haul engines and rebuild cars and trucks.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Clarice and her daughter, Sharell and her children, Kai, Tea, Quinn, Damien, and Xavier. Daughter Whitney, and granddaughter, Prezeli, and grandson, Kache.
