April 17, 1937
to May 22, 2019
Mary Lou Arnold McKee, age 82, died peacefully on May 22, 2019, in Vernal, Utah, surrounded by her family and caretakers. She was born on April 17, 1937, in Gusher, Utah, to William Henry Arnold and Delphia Averett Arnold. She attended school in Roosevelt, Utah, and graduated from Union High.
She married the love of her life, Dan McKee on Jan. 12, 1957. They were later sealed together for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they had a daughter, Rakell Lyn McKee (Nash).
Mary Lou worked from the late 1950s until 1982 at First Security Bank in Vernal, Utah. She loved serving the public and seemed to know just about everyone in town from her years spent at the bank. She took great pride in her job, and many of the life lessons and financial education she learned there would go on to serve her well throughout the rest of her lifelong dream of being a mother and homemaker, while also supporting Dan with their farm and oil field company Target Trucking, Inc.
She loved to garden, tend her flowers, and keep her yard beautiful. She had an obsession with beautiful rocks and loved going rock hunting everywhere from the desert to the mountains. She loved the beauty of the mountains and enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling and four-wheeling.
Mary Lou was a woman of many talents and could successfully accomplish anything she set her mind to. She was an amazing, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She always had a soft spot in her heart for animals, and you would always find her caring for creatures both big and small.
She is preceded in death by her parents William H. Arnold and Delphia Averett Arnold; husband Dan Harold McKee; an angelic baby daughter; sisters Marlene (Joe) Roybal, Oleana (Bud) Davis, Janet (Bob) Chadwick, and brothers Larry (Judy) Arnold and William (Clara) Arnold; and many wonderful friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Rakell (Jesse) Nash; and grandchildren: Velci, Jayzon, and Alexis Lou Nash, her brother Bobby (Della) Arnold, and sister Anita (Kendall) Rasmussen.
